Paneer Tikka


AUTHOR’S NOTES

A delicious high protein appetizer, which comes together in a snap. Can be enjoyed on its own or as a wrap with store bought tortillas or on skewers with vegetables.

Important note, please use fresh ginger and garlic. It will make a huge difference.


INGREDIENTS (serves 4)

1 package 12 oz paneer

6-7 cloves of garlic

3 inches fresh ginger

1 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 teaspoon chilli powder

1.5 teaspoons mango powder (amchur)

2 teaspoons garam masala powder

Salt to taste

3/4 cup plain yogurt (any kind)

Cilantro to garnish

Vegetable oil to coat the pan


DIRECTIONS (30 mins cooking time)

  1. Cut the paneer into bite size cubes.

  2. Mince the garlic

  3. Grate the ginger.

  4. Combine the paneer, ginger, garlic and spices.

  5. Add the yogurt and mix such that it coats the paneer.

  6. Set it aside for a minimum of 15 minutes (can be longer).

  7. Heat a large pan.

  8. Coat with oil.

  9. Add the paneer mixture.

  10. Cook till all the moisture is gone.

  11. Plate and garnish with finely chopped cilantro.
